While promoting her new action-comedy ‘Killers,’ co-starring Ashton Kutcher and Tom Selleck and in theaters June 4, Katherine Heigl admitted to ET’s Samantha Harris that she regrets leaving “Grey’s Anatomy” each and every day, but stated she’s grateful that she chose to raise her baby daughter Naleigh full-time instead.
“It was a definitely challenging alternative to produce and also you never pretty know, ‘Was it the proper decision or even the wrong selection?’” Katherine mentioned of leaving “Greys.” “But the only thing that provides me solace is understanding that if I hadn’t [left], I wouldn’t have had these months with Naleigh that have just sort of solidified our relationship.”
“I needed that to take place,” she continued. “I truly desired her to obtain that I’m her mom. And I required to show her that, I couldn’t just tell her.”
Katherine, who adopted Naleigh from Korea last September with her husband Josh Kelley, told Samantha she hasn’t witnessed the “Grey”’s season finale yet, but she plans to catch it soon on i-Tunes — and she confessed that she can’t help but question how her character Izzy’s tale would have played out.
“As a lot as I miss my buddies [on the show] and speculate what Izzy’s storyline would are already inside the season finale, I am so, so grateful that I chose to give [Naleigh] this time. She and I required it.”
“She’s just obtaining more and far more enjoyable each day, like the walking, the talking and mimicking,” added the proud mom. “She’s super-goofy and carries a excellent sense of humor that is just awesome for us, simply because we adore to laugh.
“It’s been genuinely incredible to possess that time with her, for certain, and being just Mom, and be involved and be in charge,” Katherine mentioned. “And so now it is challenging to go back to work, but there is a big part of me that’s anxious to go back to perform.”
